Stock Adjustments

The Stock Adjustments feature in MRI Evolution provides tools for managing inventory changes, including manual adjustments, stock transfers, and price updates. This functionality supports accurate inventory tracking and ensures that stock records reflect real-world movements and valuations.

Manually adjust stock levels
Move stock between locations
Adjust stock prices (when the FIFO model is not enabled)

If the Purchase Order module is not used, stock must be manually adjusted upon delivery to maintain accurate records.

Modules > Stores > Stock Adjustments

The link will open the Stock Adjustments grid. It is a grid view which can be searched, sorted and customised as normal.

Stock Moves, Stock Adjustments and Price Adjustments can be viewed from this grid.

Stock Adjustment - Move

To add a new Stock Adjustment for Move click Select Stock . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation or amendment of a Stock Adjustment - Move.

Field Name	Description
Group	From the drop down select the Stock Group
Part Code	From the drop down select the Stores code.
Description	Auto-populated with the description of the Stock item.
Original Bin Number	The bin number where the Stock was originally held.
Original Location	The Location where the Stock was originally held.
Original Quantity	The amount of Stock held in the original Location.
New Bin Number	The bin number where the Stock is being moved to.
New Building	The Building where the Stock is being moved to.
New Location	The Location where the Stock is being moved to.
Qty to move	The amount of Stock that is being moved to the new Location.

Complete the fields and click Save and Close .

Stock Adjustment - Quantity

To add a new Stock Adjustment for Quantity click Select Stock . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation or amendment of a Stock Adjustment - Quantity.

Field Name	Description
Adjustment No	Auto-populated with the next sequential number for Stock Adjustment
Stock Take	If the adjustment was made via a Stock Take, the corresponding Stock Take description is shown.
Details	Enter a description for the Stock Adjustment.
Adjusted By	Auto-populated with the User who completed the adjustment.
Date	Auto-populated with the date the Stock Adjustment was made.

Complete the fields and click Save . Once the Stock Adjustment header has been completed and saved, Stock can be added to adjust.

To adjust Stock click Assign a Stock item to Adjust . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation of a Stock Adjustment.

Field Name	Description
Group	From the drop down select the Stock Group.
Part Code	From the drop down select the Stores code.
Description	Auto-populated with the description of the Stock item.
Original Quantity	The original Stock level.
New	The corrected stock quantity in the system's unit of measure after applying this quantity adjustment (e.g., 45 units, 120 liters, 85 boxes). This field sets the absolute stock level rather than adjusting by a relative amount, useful for reconciling physical stock counts with system records during cycle counts or year-end inventory audits. The difference between the original quantity and this new value determines the stock gain or loss recorded in inventory variance reports. Once saved, the system creates an audit trail showing who adjusted the quantity, when, and the variance amount for stock valuation and loss prevention analysis.

Complete the fields and click Save and Close .

Stock Adjustment - Price

If the FIFO model is being used then price cannot be adjusted against the Stock Item, the price has to be adjusted via a Stock Adjustment. When new Stock is ordered the new price will be used and a new batch of Stock will be created when the goods are received.

To add a new Stock Adjustment for Price click New Price Adjustment . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation or amendment of a Stock Adjustment - Price.

Complete the fields and click Save . Once the Stock Adjustment header has been completed and saved, Stock can be added to adjust.

To adjust Stock click Assign a Stock item to Adjust . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation of a Stock Adjustment.

Field Name	Description
Group	From the drop down select the Stock Group.

Original Unit Price	The original Stock Price.
New Unit Price	The new Stock Price.

Once the Stock Adjustment for price has been completed ,the FIFO model will create a new batch of Stock with the new price when parts are ordered. Any Stock in older batches are issued first.
