Inventory Families

Inventory Families group similar assets and resources for easier Facilities Booking and management in MRI Evolution. Use these categories to organize inventory and streamline booking processes.

Settings > Facilities Booking > Inventory Families

The link will open the Inventory Families grid. It is a grid view which can be searched, sorted and customised as normal.

To add a new Inventory Family click New , to edit an existing Inventory Family click Edit . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation or amendment of a Inventory Family.

Field Name	Description
Inventory Family	The name of the high-level category used to group similar bookable resources and facilities within the facility booking system for logical organization and user navigation (e.g., "Meeting Rooms", "Training Suites", "Hot Desks", "Parking Spaces", "Equipment", "Pool Cars"). Inventory Families create a hierarchical structure that helps users quickly find and filter available resources when making bookings through the visual booking widget or booking calendar. Each family can contain multiple individual bookable items (e.g., "Meeting Rooms" family contains "Board Room", "Conference Room A", "Small Meeting Room 1"). Used to control booking widget layouts, apply family-specific booking rules, and generate utilization reports by resource type. Choose clear, user-friendly names that match how your organization refers to these facilities in everyday conversation.

Complete the fields and click Save and Close .
