Qualifications and certifications. Applied to Resources to create a skills register and filter available staff by required qualifications.

Enables competency-based task assignment, training gap analysis, and certification expiry tracking.

The link will open the Skills Grid. It is a grid view which can be searched, sorted and customised as normal.

To add a new Skill click New , to edit an existing Skills click Edit . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation or amendment of a Skill.

Field Name	Description
Code	A short, unique alphanumeric identifier for this technical competency, qualification, or trade skill used to match resource capabilities with task requirements (e.g., "ELEC", "GAS", "PLUMB", "HVAC", "LIFT", "CPCS", "IPAF", "18TH-ED" representing Electrical, Gas Safe, Plumbing, HVAC specialist, Lift Engineer, CPCS plant operator, IPAF aerial platform, 18th Edition electrical). Skills enable intelligent task allocation by matching work requirements to qualified resources, ensuring only appropriately trained and certified personnel are assigned to specialized tasks. Essential for regulatory compliance (Gas Safe, Part P electrical, F-Gas refrigerants, asbestos awareness), maintaining quality standards, managing sub-contractor competencies, and preventing assignment of work to unqualified staff. Skills link to resources/contacts to record their competencies and to PPM templates/task categories to define required qualifications. Keep codes brief for mobile device selection and scheduling board filters.
Name	The name of the Skill.
Notes	Free text notes relating to the Skill.
Assignment Restrictions	Available from 5.5.0.0 Assignment Restrictions are used to mark a Skill as a Requirement for a Task. From the drop down select the Assignment Restriction: • Preferred: This Skill is beneficial and preferred for Resources assigned to a Task, if a Task requires this Skill then assignment pages will prioritise assignment to Resources that have this Skill • Mandatory: This Skill is a mandatory Requirement for any Resource assigned to a Task. If a Task requires this Skill, then it will not be possible to assign to a Resource without this Skill • None: Accreditation for this Skill isn’t a requirement to assigned Resources
Minimum Competency Rating	Available from 5.5.0.0 Set the minimum Competency ratings that a Resource should have attained in order to be able to carry out a Task where this Skill is a Requirement , this will assist whomever is assigning the Task to ensure that a Resource with the required Skill level is assigned Max Competency Rating 100

Complete the fields and click Save and Close .
