User Preferences

User Preferences enable personalized system configuration, allowing each user to customize Evolution's interface and default behaviours to match their role, workflow, and organizational requirements. Configure preferences across multiple functional areas including Task management (default queries, display options, assignment behaviours), Resource planning (planner views, time intervals, resource filtering), Facilities booking (default durations, notification settings, location preferences), Timesheets (resource filtering criteria, time entry defaults), and Integrated services (external system connection settings). Each preference category provides granular controls—for example, set your default Task query to show "My Open Tasks" rather than "All Tasks," configure Resource Planner to display technician calendars in 30-minute intervals, or establish Facilities Booking defaults for your most frequently reserved meeting room with standard set-up requirements. Changes apply immediately to your account without affecting other users, allowing individuals to optimize their experience while maintaining organizational data consistency. This supports productivity (reduce repetitive data entry through sensible defaults), user satisfaction (work in familiar patterns matching personal preferences), and security compliance (configure password changes, manage authentication settings). Organizations typically allow users to self-manage most preferences while administrators control system-wide security and integration settings, balancing personalization flexibility with governance requirements.

Change Password

The Change Password feature in MRI Evolution is integrated with user account management and security protocols. It allows users to securely update their password using a form that validates the current password and confirms the new password before applying changes.

For example, when a user initiates a password change, the system checks the current password for accuracy and enforces password strength requirements for the new password. This helps protect user accounts and maintain compliance with security policies.

Queries

Queries are one of the key tools of data filtering. While MRI Evolution has quick search and column specific filtering on grids; queries allow a User to narrow data in other ways e.g. Show all those Tasks that are still active or assigned or all non-urgent calls logged today.

Queries can be written by a User for their use only, or they can be written as 'System' and available to all MRI Evolution Users.

Facilities Booking User Preferences

Facilities Booking User Preferences in MRI Evolution let you set your default options for the Facilities Bookings module. Adjust booking times, locations, notifications, and display settings to match your workflow and reduce repetitive entry.

These preferences are applied automatically when you use the Planner, streamlining the booking process and ensuring a consistent experience.

Integrated Services User Preferences A User can set up preferences to enable their Integrated Services functions to behave according to requirements.
PPM Planner User Preferences Allows a User to configure the PPM Planner in order to view the most relevant filter and time options to meet their requirements.
Requested Quote User Preferences The Requested Quotes User Preferences in MRI Evolution allow users to configure how the system checks for duplicate quotes during the approval process. This feature integrates with the quote management workflow to help prevent duplicate requests and ensure data accuracy.
Resource Planner User Preferences The Resource Planner User Preferences in MRI Evolution allow users to tailor the planner interface and workflow to their specific needs. These preferences integrate with the scheduling and resource allocation modules, ensuring that each user sees the most relevant information for their role.
Tasks User Preferences Task User Preferences in MRI Evolution allow each user to customize how tasks are displayed and managed within the system. These preferences integrate with the task management workflow, enabling users to optimize their experience for efficiency and clarity.
Timesheet User Preferences

Administrators can define query criteria in MRI Evolution to restrict which Resources users see when assigning Time Records to Tasks.

These criteria are applied in addition to existing filters (e.g., Task Suppliers, Task Building, On Duty) to ensure users only assign Tasks to relevant Resources.
